With price ranges that stretch from $0 to $211,000,000, one has to ask: what is the value of a logo? What does it take to create an icon? And can it be done for free?
As for the Microsoft logo, which was recently updated for the first time in 25 years, the price tag? According to the Seattle Times, the tech company leveraged its employees’ design skills to develop the new identity for free. The cost could’ve easily scaled up to half a million had they decided to employ a design firm.
